Breast lift surgery, or by the proper medical term “Mastopexy” is a plastic surgery procedure devised to lift and reshape sagging breasts. This procedure can also reduce the size of the areola, if needed. The Plastic Surgeon may insert implants during a breast lift procedure if the breasts have lost volume, increasing both the firmness of the breast and its size.
A breast lift can be performed at any age, but breast development must be complete. In most cases, breast lift surgery will not affect your ability to breast feed, because the breast’s milk ducts and nipples are left intact. Larger breasts can be lifted, but in some cases the results may not last as long as the results from a patient with small breasts.
